Requested Agenda Item Description: Capital Improvements requests $550,000 for Government Center improvements. Due to the age of the equipment, location of the kitchen, and growth of Meals on Wheels, it is necessary that we make improvements to the kitchen to ensure the continued success of the program. This project will move HVAC condensing units from the interior to the exterior of the building. This move will lower indoor and kitchen temperatures which can at times reach over 100 degrees on hot, busy days, as well as reduce the noise levels in the area. A second consideration will be to remove and replace the large oven with smaller, more efficient ovens that will also aid in lowering the internal temperature of the kitchen while maintaining capacity. The current oven is over thirty years old and the condensing units have been added over time to help with cooling the kitchen, but were placed in the lower level garage rather than outside the facility. The project funding will come from under expend of completed projects.
