Council Review of Proposed Revisions to Countywide Policy 1200: Contributions, and Recommendations for Further Action and Additional Review
Requested Agenda Item Description: The Council previously requested that Council staff prepare and recommend revisions to Countywide Policy 1200, concerning contributions made by the County to nonprofit entities. The Council voted to initiate this review following a recent County audit of contributions, and in response to feedback exchanged between the Council and other County offices and departments during the 2024 budget workshops. Council staff has met and collaborated on the attached set of proposed policy revisions and is now presenting them to the Council for its review. Staff is prepared to incorporate any suggested feedback or changes from the Council. The Council may consider referring the draft policy to the Executive Coordinating Committee for feedback from other County stakeholders, and to the District Attorney’s office for review as to form and legality, including the drafting of forms related to the policy.
