Budget Adjustment: The Salt Lake County Children's Justice Center requests a 12-month time-limited Forensic Interviewer position. This position will be funded with a new grant from the National Children's Alliance (NCA) in the amount of $30,000 and $43,948.17 carried over from 2023 NCA award of $50,000.

Requested Agenda Item Description: The Salt Lake County Children's Justice Center has received a new award of funds from the National Children's Alliance (NCA) in the amount of $30,000 for a Forensic Interviewer TL position. The 2023 NCA award was $50,000 for a Victim Services Coordinator TL position however we were unable to hire due to recruitment and salary issues. Since that time, funding for the Victim Services Coordinator TL has been shifted to the State of Utah Base contract funding that was increased as of 7/1/23. Of the $50,000 award, $43,948.17 has been allowed to carryover to 2024 to support the hiring of the additional Forensic Interviewer TL. This provides us with $73,948.17 in funding for this position for 12 months of 2024. Due to the delay that will occur for the hiring process we will most likely use this funding for 10 months. The addition of this position will allow us to fully staff both locations of the CJC and increase services to child victims of crime. This request is for an additional time-limited Forensic Interviewer position.
