Requested Agenda Item Description: Salt Lake County has an ownership interest in real property located in Kearns Metro Township, in an area known as Camp Kearns. The County cooperated with several adjacent property owners to dedicate land for the development of public roads in Camp Kearns, resulting in the recording of the Camp Kearns Road Dedication Plat on May 3, 2021. After recording the Road Plat, the County still owned property in gaps between parcels owned by adjacent property owners and the dedicated public road. As part of the agreement with the adjacent property owners to create and construct the public roads, the County had agreed to convey its interest in these Gap Parcels to certain adjacent property owners. After the construction of the public roads and recording the Road Plat, additional discrepancies were discovered concerning ownership interests adjacent to the public roads. To address these ownership discrepancies and to complete the transfer of the County's interests in the Gap Parcels, several adjoining property owners and the County have prepared a subdivision plat establishing the final boundary lines between the properties located within the platted area and have agreed to quit-claim any interests outside of their individual lots to the owners of the individual lots in the new subdivision. A copy of the Plat is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and copies of the quitclaim deeds to be signed by the County are attached hereto as Exhibit B. It has been determined that the best interests of the County and the public will be served by executing the Plat and the Deeds attached to this Resolution.
