Requested Agenda Item Description: ORD is seeking to transfer funds from the Regional Projects Fund (RPF) to the ORD Admin budget to support a contract for consulting and analytical services to assist the County in obtaining federal grant funds, primarily from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA, August 2022) and the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA, November 2021).
The firm retained to assist Salt Lake County will perform activities that include identifying, selecting, prioritizing, and applying for (with the assistance of the County’s grant writer) grants from U.S Federal grant makers. The County seeks to secure Federal funding that would be suitable to support existing programs, foster the scaling-up of existing programs, and explore new programs that meet critical public policy objectives, such as environmental sustainability, housing affordability, workforce development for traditionally underserved populations, public health objectives, recreation facility infrastructure (trails and open space), and criminal justice reform
