Consideration of Fee Addition In the Amount of $45 for Trichmoniasis testing to the Salt Lake County Health Department Clinical Services Fee Schedule
Requested Agenda Item Description: The Salt Lake County Health Department Clinical Services agency requests Council approval to add a $45 fee for a new Trichomoniasis test that is available to the current fee schedule. This is a test that many patients ask for and can get at other labs but not at our clinic. The test that the state lab is providing may be used for women and men. Providing the test makes us a more comprehensive STD testing clinic. It will pick up trich in patients with or without symptoms. We will be able to test those patients that are a contact to trich, (male or female). It will decrease the amount of unnecessary antibiotic treatment. The fee we are requesting be added to the schedule will is $45- It will include the $35 for our test, and a $10 administration fee.
