Salt Lake County Noxious Weed Control Board Appointment
Appointment: Laura Flower
Requested Agenda Item Description: The noxious weed board is a 5-member board consisting of 2 farmers, or persons involved in production agriculture. Laura Flower meets this requirement as she is involved in production agriculture through her position overseeing Merit Medical employee garden. Her knowledge and expertise of pollinator plants, farming, greenhouse production, and community outreach and partnership development within the refugee farming community in Salt Lake is valuable to the weed board. Laura's perspective as a woman, having worked with diverse communities in farming, we feel would be a great benefit to our goal of creating a diverse Salt Lake County board.
