Title

Consideration of a Resolution of the Salt Lake County Council Correcting a Technical Error in Salt Lake County’s Moderate Income Housing Plan

Body

Requested Agenda Item Description:
Planning staff is requesting the adoption of a resolution to correct a technical error in the County’s Moderate Income Housing Plan. Staff will provide a brief presentation of the staff report and answer any questions from Council members.

In September of 2022, the Salt Lake County Council adopted amendments to the Moderate Income Housing Plan for Unincorporated Salt Lake County. These amendments were required by the State through HB 462. In November of 2022, Salt Lake County was notified by the State that its amendments were in compliance with HB 462 but did not meet the criteria established for priority funding consideration. In order to achieve priority funding consideration for TIF, TIFF, and COVID local assistance grants, the State is allowing the County Council to make a resolution to correct a technical error within the Plan. The resolution would allow staff to correct Strategy O in the Plan which only partially quoted state code language and replace it with the full text of Strategy O as presented in §17-27a-403.
