Budget Adjustment: The Health Department Requests 0.75 FTE Time-Limited Position to Expand the Suicide Prevention Program.

Requested Agenda Item Description: The Health Department has been awarded $95,000 annually for 3 years from Utah State Substance Abuse and Mental Health to expand suicide prevention program. This position will be 100% funded by the state from October 2022-June 2025.
This position's tasks include: Develop a written suicide prevention plan for Salt Lake County that is in alignment with the state plan; Develop a written postvention response plan in alignment with the Utah Community Postvention Toolkit; Serve as the postvention response coordinator to assist schools, worksites, community organizations, etc. in providing support and resources after a death by suicide; Review and update submitted plans; Provide more Postvention support for communities within Salt Lake County.
