Salt Lake Miracle of Ag Project Fee Waiver Request

Requested Agenda Item Description: USU Extension office is requesting a fee waiver to utilize the north parking lot at the Mountain America Expo Center for the July 8, 2022 Salt Lake Miracle of Ag Project (Farmers Feeding Utah). The Utah Miracle of Ag project is in partnership with the Utah Farm Bureau and Utah State University Extension, providing families in need with Utah grown healthy nutrition packed products such as ground hamburger, goat meat, fresh grown produce. It is an incredible and fun event, that helps communities.
Audience: Refugees, Latino families, and other low-income families in Salt Lake.
Project timeline: 7-9 set up, unload semi-trucks with food, set up tables and load bags for distribution. 9-11 event, give away. 11-1 clean up.
Request: a parking lot area for cars to wait in line for the distribution, and a location for the distribution to happen. Needing space for a couple semi-trucks for unloading, etc. Needs if available: Parking lot - flow through area, if possible, for traffic flow and line up of cars.
Other needs if available: Tables to use for setting up. County policy makers and stakeholders who are available to help with the distribution.
