Description: Contribute $66,000 to the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center (SLAFJC) at YWCA. This contribution is being split between the District Attorney’s Office and the Mayor’s Office. The mission of the SLAFJC is to reduce domestic violence by strengthening victim safety and increasing offender accountability through community collaboration and accessible, co-located, victim-centered services. This contribution would go toward a program designed to address a prevalent, yet often overlooked, source of lethal domestic violence, which is non-fatal strangulation. More specifically, the funds would go toward the forensic nurse team for provision of strangulation forensic exams.
