Requested Agenda Title:
Budget Adjustment: The District Attorney’s Office Requests to Transfer $149,301 from Personnel Budget for a Time-Limited Position Funded by the Department of Justice Enhancing Investigations and Prosecution Grant to Operations, in order to Pay the UPD for Providing an Employee to Fulfill the Grant’s Obligations.
Requested Agenda Item Description: In 2024 The District Attorney's Office was awarded an Enhancing Investigations and Prosecution grant through the Department Of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. This is a three year grant for $500,000. The funding period began 10/1/24 and included a time-limited FTE that we anticipated would start 1/1/25. After several failed attempts at recruitment for this time limited position as a County employee, we have entered into an interlocal agreement with UPD to provide the employee to fulfill the obligations of this grant. The interlocal agreement was approved by Council at the 4/15/25 meeting.
This adjustment is to move the spending authority for the time-limited employee expenses from Personnel to Operations for the UPD payments under the ILA for the period of May 1-December 31, 2025 in the amount of $149,301. Total cost of the FTE salary and benefits is $175,277. This is a difference of $25,976. Revenue for 2025 is reduced by $25,976.
Future year adjustments will increase revenue by $71,453 and operations by $71,453 as it will be a full year.
