Consideration of a Resolution of the Salt Lake County Council Revoking and Repealing Countywide Policy 1038: Notice for Public Meetings

Requested Agenda Item Description: Consistent with the Council’s legislative intent and revisions to Countywide Policy 2, legal counsel has reviewed Countywide Policy 1038: “Notice for Public Meetings,” and determined that its substantive provisions have been superseded and restated elsewhere in Utah code, making the existing policy obsolete and ultimately unnecessary. If approved by the Council, this resolution would repeal Countywide Policy 1038. It would also instruct Salt Lake County’s public bodies to adhere to Utah Code and Salt Lake County Ordinance for the purpose of providing any required public notice for meetings, hearings, and other purposes required by law.
