Budget Adjustment: The Mountain America Expo Center Requests a Budget Adjustment of $521,659 from Estimated Insurance Recoveries to Repair Damages from the Auto Accident Involving the Electrical Transformer Outside the Expo Center
Requested Agenda Item Description: This requested project fund is related to damage from the auto accident vs. electrical transformer at the Mountain America Expo Center. The programmable logic controller (PLC) that manages the power transfer between the main utility power and generator power was tested the morning of the incident. As a result of the auto accident, tests on our equipment have failed. We worked with County electricians on the test.
Legal has found that TS Electric's insurer has a $1 Million policy limit, already paid out to repair/replace the truck involved in the auto accident. The County's retained contractor-'Energy Management' has been working with us since the damage occurred.
While detailed explanation of the repairs and estimated costs are being providing to the insurer for request of reimbursement, we are creating a project to house estimated repairs to Mountain America Expo Center where the venue is directly damaged in this auto accident. Attached contained the is the very best estimate we have today and that we will have for the foreseeable future.
