Requested Agenda Item Description: Utah Code Ann. 17-31-5.5 requires the Council to prepare an annual written report providing a breakdown of expenditures related to Salt Lake County’s imposition of the Transient Room Tax (TRT) and the Tourism, Recreation, Cultural, Convention and Airport Facilities Tax (TRCC). Utah Code requires that the report be adopted on or before October 1 of each year for the preceding fiscal year. Consistent with the Council’s recent resolution related to this report, Mayor’s finance has prepared the attached report for Council review and adoption in a manner consistent with statutory requirements. This report provides a required breakdown of TRT and TRCC expenditures for fiscal years 2019 through 2023. If approved by the Council, copies of the report should be distributed by staff to the Utah Office of Tourism, the County’s TRCC Advisory Board, and the Office of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst.
