The Sheriff’s Office Seeks Approval of Policy 5-100(A) to Provide Uniform and Consistent Transition of Employees From the UPD to the Sheriff’s Office

Requested Agenda Item Description: The Sheriff’s Office is seeking equal treatment of all employees transitioning from UPD to the Sheriff’s Office. Sworn employees and assimilated civilian units will not be subjected to serve a probationary period upon joining the Sheriff's Office from the UPD. We would seek to waive the probationary period for civilian employees hired through an inter-jurisdictional transfer creating equal treatment for all UPD employees seeking employment with the Sheriff's Office.
