Advice and Consent of County Library Board Appointments

Requested Agenda Item Description: After carefully reviewing applications, resumes and supplemental questions, and having had the opportunity to conduct personal interviews of each candidate, the Board Development Committee is proud to unanimously recommend that the following individuals be appointed to the Library Board and forwarded to the County Council for advice and consent.
Anastasia Morgan, currently residing in District 6. Anastasia is a 2018 law school graduate. Her current practice includes Family Law, Parental Rights, Estate Planning and representing survivors of Domestic Violence. Anastasia has been recognized as a Top 10 Under 40 Family Law Attorney and served as a Track Coach for the Special Olympics. She brings an important young voice to the Library Board with experience in legislative matters, public policy, procedural issues, and a spirit of collaboration.
Steven S. Sokol, currently residing in District 5. Steven is a CPA and Internal Auditor who will bring experience in internal auditing, financial reporting processes and advocacy to the Library Board. Steven was the past President of the Salt Lake Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and was recognized as the Speaker of the Year by the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors for his presentation "Audit Evidence, Auditing in the Age of Instagram".
Spencer Romney, currently residing in District 4. Spencer is a Spanish speaker who earned his Juris Doctor, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2010. He is a former Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, earned a Certificate in Business and Public Policy from Warton School of Business and a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
