Requested Agenda Item Description: Please accept this request for your support in appointing Robin Chalhoub, Community Services Department Director, and Arlyn Bradshaw, County Council District 1 Representative, to the UPACA board. This will fill the two remaining County-appointed vacancies on the UPACA board.
Robin Chalhoub will fill the Salt Lake County Community Services Department representative board position, who serves until the appointment is vacated or the representative is removed. Arlyn Bradshaw will fill the Salt Lake County resident board position who serves a four-year term; his term would be June 1, 2022 - May 31, 2026. The UPACA board consists of nine members: six appointed by Salt Lake City and three appointed by Salt Lake County.
As you know, UPACA is an Interlocal entity which owns and operates the Eccles Theater. The board’s purpose is to determine general policies, establish rates, fees and charges for the use of the site; approve the annual Site budget, and undertake the planning for improvement, operation, programming and maintenance. The guiding principles and goals of UPACA are to maximize the beneficial economic impact of the Eccles Theater and cause the Theater to be a preeminent venue for international, national, regional, and local entertainment.
