Title
Budget Adjustment: Flood Control's Request to Transfer $300,000 From the Rose Creek Improvements Project to the Dry Creek 300 W Culvert Project
Body
Requested Agenda Item Description: Sandy City and South Jordan City have approached Flood Control and requested participation in a joint project to improve the creek and decrease flood risk at the Dry Creek 300 West Culvert crossing. The current configuration of the creek at this location creates hydraulic and maintenance issues. Prior to the work that the cities will do over the creek, Flood Control would like to reorient the location of the culvert to improve hydraulics and decrease maintenance issues.
These funds were set aside to make improvements to Rose Creek, project EFCFP220002, according to the findings of the updated Southwest Canal and Creek Study. Whereas the study is not complete, and whereas Flood Control was approached to partner in a project on Dry Creek at 300 West, we are requesting this budget adjustment to fund this imminent joint project. Remaining Rose Creek funds will be used to design prioritized projects, with construction being funded in future years.
