Budget Adjustment: Flood Control Requests an Appropriation Unit Shift of $7,200 from Operation Expense to Capital Expense for the Design and Replacement of the Stream Gauge Enclosure at the 9000 S Bridge Over the Jordan River

Requested Agenda Item Description: Due to the replacement of the 9000 S bridge over the Jordan River, UDOT removed the existing County stream gauge which has been in place for decades. The County was only given a few days' notice of the removal and has been working to replace all of the parts for the installation. The last part needed is an enclosure to house the sensitive scientific equipment required to make the gauge work. The housing needs to be designed to meet the specific requirements of the site, sturdy enough to protect the equipment and to withstand vandalism related to wire and electrical part theft.
This is a budget neutral adjustment between appropriation units. The cost of the housing will be greater than $5,000, making it a capital purchase.
